Why strength matters
with GLP-1
If you’re using a GLP‑1 medication or considering one, ForeverFit can help you stay active, maintain strength, and build habits that last beyond medication.
When exercise is combined with GLP‑1 medications, research suggests:
Approximately twice the reduction in body fat % than exercise or GLP-1 alone.1
Individuals combining GLP-1 + exercise have been shown to be more likely to achieve weight loss than GLP-1 alone.2
Evidence suggests that adding exercise to a GLP-1 regimen can help preserve muscle.3
Build strength and lean into lasting results.
Weight loss medications, including GLP-1s, may support weight loss. Combining them with movement may help improve overall health and well-being.
Support long-term health. Regular movement supports energy, heart health, and daily function.3
Stay consistent over time. Building a routine helps you stay active during treatment and beyond.

Translational Exercise Biomedicine, 2(1), 51-62. The paper includes four small RCTs (n=202; two orlistat trials; two GLP‑1/GIP or GLP‑1 RA trials including liraglutide and tirzepatide) and concludes that adding structured exercise to pharmacotherapy produces additional reductions in body weight and fat mass versus pharmacotherapy alone; evidence certainty is graded low to very low for most outcomes, with heterogeneity and risk‑of‑bias concerns.

The New England Journal of Medicine, 384(18), 1719-1730. In adults with obesity who completed an 8‑week low‑calorie diet, one year of combined structured exercise plus liraglutide 3.0 mg produced greater weight‑loss maintenance than either alone. Adults with obesity without diabetes; 8‑week low‑calorie diet run‑in; 52‑week randomized maintenance: supervised exercise, liraglutide 3.0 mg daily, both, or placebo. Absolute treatment differences vs placebo: exercise −4.1 kg; liraglutide −6.8 kg; combination −9.5 kg; only the combination improved insulin sensitivity and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Diabetes Obes Metab. 2024;26(Suppl. 4):16‐27. doi:10.1111/dom.15728. This review discusses evidence that exercise, including both endurance and resistance training, may help preserve lean body mass during weight loss, including during GLP-1-based therapy.
